This is our favorite new Nintendo DS game! Combining a great collection of puzzles with a game that features a real story and characters, the game allows players to sleuth out the mystery of St. Mystere, a village where the citizens speak to each other in riddles, lock their doors with sliding puzzles, and bury their secrets in mazes and brainteasers. The mystery begins when the town's richest citizen, Baron Augustus Reinhold, dies. His will reveals that there's a secret treasure hidden in the town, and his family calls in the titular Professor Layton, a puzzle expert, to help them locate it. As Layton, gamers have the chance to solve more than 130 puzzles, interacting with the locals and appreciating the graphics of the game. That, in fact, is one of the things we love most about Professor Layton: the hand-drawings are so bright and charming, and really make you feel like you're in the middle of a classic children's storybook. Bonus: The game keeps on giving for half a year, you can download new puzzles for the game each week, via Nintendo Wi-Fi!
