Our grandma used to make Dump Cakes, and we love them not only because they're so cool and easy to make, but also because they taste great, and, well, they're one of the first things we ever learned to "cook." The recipe could not be simpler: You "dump" a pie filling or canned fruit into a baking dish, you "dump" a box of cake mix (just the dry mix, no other ingredients) on top of that, and then you put pats of butter on top of that and put the whole thing in the oven, according to the directions for each specific recipe. The result is a gooey, buttery, fruit-filled cake that's a cross between sweet cake and a cobbler-ish dessert. The coolest part is that you can make it in any flavor you desire, without changing how simple it is to make. You just choose what kind of fruit/pie filling you want and the flavor of cake mix to come up with some great combos. This one's peach - our fave - but we also love cherry pie filling with chocolate cake mix (Black Forest Dump Cake!), apple pie filling with spice cake mix . any flavors you want to put together are almost guaranteed to net you one super duper dessert!
