The O.C., Gossip Girl, Dawson's Creek, and Felicity all owe a big debt of gratitude to this show, which not only launched the careers of Claire Danes and Jared Leto, but also set a new standard for angst-y teen TV dramas. Angela Chase (Danes) felt misunderstood by everyone (including herself), and her feelings for bad boy Jordan Catalano (Leto) certainly didn't make her life any easier. Then there was her troubled friend Rayanne; her sweet but even more confused friend Rickie; and Brian Krakow, the guy who was not-so-secretly in love with her. Drama, drama, drama, and this truly reverent DVD box set captures it all, with all 19 episodes, plus an amazing lineup of bonus goodies, including features on the show's origins, characters, and music, interviews with Danes, and a book that includes tributes from Buffy creator Joss Whedon, cast photos, liner notes, and original art. This is one for both fans of the show and those who never had a chance to experience its brilliant take on teen life.
