#8: Rock it like a ... well, rock star with Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock for Wii and Xbox 360 (Activision)

We're not suggesting you party like a rock star — heck, we're not even old enough for that! — but you can learn to play guitar like one, especially with the cool new wireless controller and great lineup of new tunes in the latest version of Activision's wildly popular Guitar Hero series, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. Among the added features in this round, the first time the game has appeared for Wii(!): new venues for your guitar battles, more than 70 new tunes (including songs by Kiss, Living Colour, and Heart), the chance to play against people around the world via online game play, and the chance to challenge true guitar legends, like Slash from Guns N' Roses (who's a huge fan of the game!). Though the game's addictive on any platform, we have to give two very enthusiastic thumbs up for the Wii version, which truly takes advantage of that game system's interactivity — LOVE the wireless guitar controller, which is customizable with a variety of faceplates. Okay, seriously, what are you waiting for ... you should be playing GHIII right now!
