Dancer, singer, actress, and Cheetah Girl Sabrina Bryan has a message for teens:
"Be happy, be healthy, and just be you."
"Keeping active is a vital component to staying fit and healthy and feeling good about yourself," she says. And to prove her point, Sabrina has a new workout DVD called BYOU. Meanwhile, Sabrina and fitness guru Teri Hanson designed this exercise routine exclusively for Teen readers. So print out these exercises, throw on a tee and some sweats, and get ready to work out! (Pssst: For even more of Sabrina's shape-up tips, pick up a copy of the spring issue of Teen -- on sale now -- and flip to page 82!)
the workout
new to it: For beginners, follow these special instructions. When you're ready (after about two weeks), up the challenge by trying the "pro at it" instructions.
pro at it: Kick up your exercise routine by adding some resistance with a pair of three-pound hand weights.
the program:
Strength-training exercises like these use lots of different muscle groups within the same move with little-to-no equipment, so they can be done in a small space like your room.
Also, remember that you have to give your body a break -- time to recuperate -- so only do this program every other day. On the days "off" you can stay active by going for a bike ride, taking a walk with friends, or shooting hoops with the guys in your neighborhood. Doesn't matter what it is, just that you like it and stick with it!
