AN EXCLUSIVE PATTERN FOR TEEN READERS FROM YARN MEISTERS: COATS & CLARK

Skill Level 1: Beginner

NOTE: These instructions will yield warmers for 6"-7" wrists.

YOU'LL NEED:

  • Option 1: 1 ball each RED HEART® "Classic&trade", Art. E267, 167 yard skeins, No. 513 Parakeet CA; "Super Saver®", Art. E301, 135 yard skeins, No. 727 Hot Pink CB; Moda Dea&trade "Cheerio", Art. R112, 50 gram/87 yard ball, 8002 Onyx CC.
  • Option 2: 1 ball each RED HEART® "Super Saver®", Art. E301, No. 727 Hot Pink CA, No. 655 Lime CB, and Moda Dea "Chichi", Art. R109, 83 yard ball, No. 9112 Midnight CC.
  • Crochet Hook: 5 mm [US H-8]
  • Yarn needle, Button.
  • GAUGE: 16 sts = 4"; 20 rows = 4".
    Use any size hook to obtain the gauge given.
    BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.

    METHOD (See Abbreviations at bottom of page for guidance)

    Work in following colors for both options:
    Row 1: CA. Row 2: CC. Row 3: CB. Row 4: CA. Row 5: CC. Row 6: CB. Row 7: CA.

    Wrist Band:
    Ch 29.

  • Row 1 (Right Side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across; turn - 35 sc.
  • Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first sc, *ch 1, skip next sc, sc in next sc; rep from * across, sc in last sc; turn.
  • Row 3: Ch 1, sc in first sc, * ch 1, skip next sc, sc in next ch-1 sp; rep from * across, sc in last sc; turn.
  • Row 4: Button Hole Row: Ch 1, sc in first 2 sc, ch 2, sc in next ch-1 sp, *ch 1, sc in next ch-1 sp; rep from * across, sc in last sc; turn.
  • Row 5: Rep Row 3.
  • Row 6: Ch 1, sc in first sc, sc in next ch-1 sp, * ch 1, sc in next ch-1 sp; rep from * across, sc in last sc; turn.
  • Row 7: Ch 1, sc in each sc and ch-1 sp across. Fasten off.
  • Center button on end opposite the button hole.
  • Option: Have some fun and add beads or change the colors for each row.
  • ABBREVIATIONS:
    approx = approximately
    beg = begin(ning)
    CA = Color A
    CB = Color B
    CC = color C
    ch = chain
    sc = single crochet
    sl = slip
    sl st = slip stitch
    sp(s) = space(s)
    st(s) = stitch(es)
    [ ] = work directions in brackets the number of times specified
    * or ** = repeat whatever follows the * or ** as indicated.
