If you haven't already listened to the High School Musical star's debut CD, V, listen to what she has to says about it...
Teen: What surprised you about recording an album?
It was kind of complicated working with different producers because one producer wants one thing and then you get used to that after a few hours of singing with them and then you go on to work with a different producer and they want something completely different. So you have to get into that mind frame of it all. With some producers I got along really well and it only took
three hours to record a song.
Do you have a favorite song on the record?
That's such a hard question because I love so many of them - which is good! When I was trying to pick a single I think there was six songs that I could have picked from. It's between my single and another song, "Say Okay," which was going to be my single but then we switched it, and then another song called "Drive."
Teen: What about those three makes them your favorite?
"Come Back to Me" my single, I just like that song because I love the beat of it and its something that girls can relate to of letting a guy go and then taking your time and realizing you want him back. "Say OK" is a really sweet song just telling your boyfriend that I really want to be with you but only if you're going to be there for me when I need you. It's such a fun beat. "Drive" is just about going for what you want and not letting anyone stop you. It's a fun pop/rock song and I love playing it when we're driving.
Teen:If you could collaborate with anyone musically, who would it be?
Well who doesn't want to work with Gwen Stefani? She's so amazing. Everything she does is so different and that's kind of what I'm going for. I'm trying to do things that people haven't really done. I'd love to do something with her. I'd probably want to work with, if I was doing a duet, I think it would be really cool to do something with Chris Brown because he's a new and upcoming artist right now and he has such an amazing voice.
Teen: What was it like filming your first video?
I was so insane! I got to the set and screamed "Oh, my God! I can't believe this is my first video!" I came such a long way from doing little community theater to my own video, and it was just such a thrill. The whole experience was mind-blowing!
