According to TMZ, the Beverly Hills Police Department is looking in to a claim filed by a female paparazzo that <b>Joel Madden</b> "struck her left breast with the heel of his hand" while attempting to help his new girlfriend, <b>Nicole Richie</b>, make her way through the throngs of paps outside of hoity-toity Beverly Hills eatery Mr. Chow on Sunday night.

TMZ says that the photographer in question has a "welt" where he pushed her and went to a doctor to seek treatment.

What's Brit really suffering from?
The rumor mill continues to churn out nonstop Britney Spears nuggets, despite the fact that the now stubbly-headed popster is safely ensconced in Malibu at Promises rehab center. The latest "news" to surface is that Britney believes she's struggling with postpartum depression, NOT drug and alcohol dependency. Guess the counselors there have their work cut out for them. But, hey, at least she's staying put. For the time being anyway.
