51. Take the blush test: Squint your eyes and look into a mirror. Can you still see your blush? If so, you need to tone it down.
52. To keep lip color off your teeth, put a finger in your mouth, close lips and pull your finger out. Sounds crazy--but it works.
53. When putting on eyeliner, look downward into a mirror. This makes your lid flatten out so it's easier to draw a straight line.
54. Never use blush as eye makeup! It isn't approved by the FDA (as in the scientists who give the A-OK on all cosmetics) for use around your eyes.
55. Eye pencil too hard? Blast it for a few secs with your blowdryer. Go easy, though--overheating it'll turn your pencil to mush! Before applying, check the consistency by drawing on the back of your hand.
56. To make your lashes look thicker, put a little powder (with your eyes closed, please!) on them before you apply your mascara.
57. To still look good at midday, freshen up your foundation, lightly spritz your skin with water, then re-blend with a dry makeup sponge.
58. Use the pad of your pinkie to test lipstick shades. The skin there most resembles your lip color--and it's way more hygienic than using testers on your lips.
59. OK: Here's another one for germ-phobic chicas. Dip a clean orangewood stick into your foundation bottle instead of using your finger. Toss the stick after each application to keep the bottled makeup sanitary.
60. Just 'cause you get a free brush with your blush doesn't mean it's your best bet. A makeup brush with a pencil-length handle makes blush application way easier.
